A bit about me

Hey! I’m Shea.

I’m an illustrator and designer, and the one-woman show behind Designed by Shea. I’ve always been delighted by technicolor worlds, designs of yesteryear, fashionable moments, vintage cartoons and playful lettering. I loved graphic design and illustration before I even knew their names.

After earning my BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia in 2012, I worked in animation studios and design firms and had the pleasure of working with some pretty big brands.

However, after working in the corporate world for several years, I found that I missed drawing just for the sake of enjoying myself. I also felt like I’d forgotten how to actually draw in my own style.

I started teaching myself how to draw all over again, and pinpointed the subjects that make me happy. I started sharing my art on Instagram, and was stunned that others were enjoying what I was making. In 2015 I opened my Etsy shop, and Designed by Shea was born.

From children’s book illustrations to bespoke brands to commissions, I aim to bring a sense of delight, polish and precision to every project. Thanks for takin’ the time to stop by and stay sparkly!
